Your Detroit Travel Guide

Detroit is a truly unique city in the midwest. With its unmatched architecture along with great culture, entertainment, and restaurants, it is a great place to visit.

If you're looking to find something to do in Detroit, you've found the right place.

This site is here to help visitors coming to the city find out all there is to do in the city.

I also wanted to make a site where Detroiters could share their favorite places to hang out and eat, in order to help people who are visiting the city.

So along with myself being the main contributor of the site, I gladly welcome all who have their special places to share about Detroit. I know that when you are looking to go somewhere, you would be much more inclined to go to the places they recommend because they've been there, they've lived there, and they know the area well. I also figured that although there are travel sites which allow people to share their stories on Detroit, it is not a specific website that is specifically dedicated to Detroit, and I want to offer that to you guys :)

The city is strategically located in Southeast Michigan on the Detroit River, which gives an awesome view looking into Canada (which also makes for a nice day trip). Belle Isle is also located in the Detroit River which gives you even more spectacular views of the Detroit skyline. It's like an oasis in the middle the city.

Just some of the many things you can enjoy:

The culture of the city is as diverse as any city can get with plenty of is located right in the downtown area, filled with many great restaurants and great museums. Also you can stay in great places like the Atheneum Hotel Detroit located in Greektown. You also have Mexican Town not far from the downtown area. There are also three casinos if you're the gambling type. From downtown on further down the mainstreet, Woodward, you find even more things to do in the city including watching sporting events at and Ford Field.

You drive into some great suburbs as well where even more places can be found to enjoy. The cultural and museum district is where you will find the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Science Center, the Charles Wright Museum, and the Detroit Historical Museum.

For my visitors out there, feel free to browse the site to find plenty of things to do in Detroit to make your visit a great one (Starting out with Detroit Facts is a great place to start). Be sure to check out the many pages and stories of Detroiters to get a feel of what the city is really like. Thanks for stopping by!!
