A Detroit Event Calendar with upcoming Detroit concerts and planning other Metro Detroit Events for children and adults. Also info on schedule and tickets for events.
Some Metro Detroit events and concerts come only during a certain time of the year and for only a certain amount of time such as the GM River Days, or Comerica CityFest. Also a lot of these events will be held at Hart Plaza or Cobo Hall so check out my page on those as well.
I will update this the Detroit Event Calendar on this page weekly with Metro Detroit concerts, downtown events, and other fun things to do which may only go on for a weekend or so.
You will always want to check here every week to see what events you may be able to catch in between your other activities.
Events like these are always good because even though Metro Detroit has many attractions (like the Detroit Zoo and the underrated Mexicantown) that you can go to, you might have been to a lot and you just want something different to satisfy your boredom.

January Events in Detroit 2012
International Motorcycle Show 2012 - January 6th-8th, 2012 - This international motorcycle show happens in Novi. See all the latest bikes including accessories and other products. Tickets are $13-$30 for adults.
North American International Auto Show 2012 - January 9th-22nd, 2012 - The long tradition of the auto show coming to the Motor City continues this year with more new cars a future prototypes than ever. It's the biggest auto show in the world and will be held at Cobo Hall right on the riverfront. Prepress days are from the 9th-10th. Industry Preview is 11th-12th and the Charity Preview Gala. It opens to the public on the 14th.
Plymouth Ice Festival - January 20th-22nd, 2012 - 29th Annual Festival which will feature over 100 ice sculptures with food, live entertainment, and even a scavenger hunt.
Zehnder's Snowfest 2012 - January 25th-30th, 2012 - "One of the top snow sculpting events in North America for the past 20 years. Once again we will dazzle and excite you with snow and ice sculptures created by professional ice and snow carvers from around the world. Zehnder's Snowfest is also host to the National Collegiate Ice Carving Championship and the High School Snow Sculpting Competition. In addition, Zehnder's Snowfest will have entertainment for the entire family in the warming tent, a fireworks display, petting zoo and children's activities."
Ann Arbor Folk Festival - January 27th-28th, 2012 - This will be the 35th year for this event featuring live music and art by traditional and contemporary artists. Come check it out!
Ferndale Blues Festival - January 27th-February 4th, 2012 - This annual festival will feature over 60 musical performances with great blues music.
February Events in Detroit 2012
Motown Winter Blast - February 10th-12th, 2012 - The Winter Blast is back downtown this year with tons of winter family fun. Live music, ice skating, ice sculptures, and more along with heated warm zones so you won't get too cold out there!
Detroit Boat Show - February 11th-19th, 2012 - The boat show has been coming to Detroit for many years now, and is one of the top boat shows in the country.
Detroit Auto Rama - February 25th-27th, 2012 - This is the 57th annual show (held at Cobo Hall) and will feature all kinds of contests including a bikini contest and pinup girl contest.
Metro Times Blowout - February 29th-March 3rd, 2012 - Large musical event which will feature over 200 live bands and performances. Tickets will be $20 which covers the whole 4 days. Look forward to having a great time in Hamtramck!
