Detroit MoviesThere have been many Detroit movies over the years. And by "Detroit Movies" I mean films featuring Detroit or ones that were filmed in Detroit. Some movie feautre it in a good light, and some in a bad light. Also witht eh recent incentives passed down by the Governer of Michigan, the Detroit area has become a hotspot for film companies wanting to make movies using the scenery around the area. With that, I thought it would be cool to list some movies featuring Detroit as well as some that were filmed in Detroit :) Gran Torino (2008) One of my favorite movies. Tells the story of an old timer in Detroit making amends for things done in his past. A great Clint Eastwood movie. The Island (2005) This movie wasn't set in Detroit, but had quite a few scenes with downtown Detroit in the background mixed with some CG. Also a few scenes were filmed in the famous old Michigan Central Station. Transformers (2007) This movie also had scenes filmed in the old Michigan Central Station. (Director Michael Bay seems to like this place a lot) Four Brothers (2005) Set in Detroit, but mostly filmed in Toronto. Robocop (1,2,3) (1987) Home Improvement (1992-1999) Ok this is not a movie, but one of my favorite shows set in Detroit starring comedian Tim Allen Dreamgirls (2006) Return from Detroit Movies to Detroit Facts Return to Detroit Travel Guide Homepage
