Your Detroit Travel GuideThe MGM Grand Casino in Detroit is one of three casino resorts in Detroit. This could be a great Entertainment option for you if you're in town and you may also consider making your hotel accommodations here also. It is a very sleek, high tech, and modern hotel resort. I love the retro art deco design of the building and I think it fits in perfectly with the city. The Hotel If you are considering staying here for your stay in Detroit, it is one of the more expensive hotels in the city. It is a casino resort after all. But the rooms and service are well worth it. In your rooms you can find plasma tvs, some of the most comfortable beds around, bathrooms with 2 sinks, and even computer and tv screens mounted in the bathrooms. The lobby is also very cozy and inviting and valet parking is available for your convenience as well. For the fit people out there, there is also a great pool and exercise facility.I would only recommend staying here if you are more so looking for a weekend vacation to just relax and enjoy the resort and other things in the city. I wouldn't recommend it for business travelers or family with kids who just need an efficient place to stay for a short time. Be prepared to spend about $300 hundred dollars a night for a room. The Casino and rest of the resort The Casino and the rest of the hotel is where you will have most of your fun. There is over 100,00 square feet of casino space with your usual slot machines, tables, and roulette. You could spend a lot of time in here so please gamble wisely. I'm not going to be held accountable for you losing all of your money ;) Along with the casino, you might to get something to eat (I know I would) and you can find four great places to dine at.Wolfgang Puck who is one of the most prominent chefs in the industry has a restaurant here and has had nothing but great reviews. The Bourbon Steak Restaurant by Michael Mina is also very popular as well. Besides these two restaurants you have the Palette Dining Studio and Saltwater. Along with all of these things, you have the nightclub VIP and upscale shopping as well. To be real, you could probably spend a whole day, maybe day and a half in just the resort. If you plan to stay long than two days, the resort will become boring because you've seen everything, so I would recommend going out and seeing the Detroit area as well. See the attractions in the Downtown Detroit area, as well as the cultural district where you can find great museums such as the Detroit Institute of Arts. You don't just want to stay in the hotel your whole time there. If you need more recommendations on what to do, just browse throughout this site, and you can find plenty. The MGM Grand in Detroit is the perfect place for a short romantic getaway or for the real die hard gamblers. In my opinion it is the best out of all three casinos in the city and is really the definition of luxury and style. This hotel really looks like something you would find in Las Vegas which is a testament to the great job MGM has done with this casino and hotel.
