Detroit Outdoor RecreationAround Detroit, you can find many things to do relating to outdoor recreation. Now obviously Detroit is a big urban city, so of course you can go biking around the city (maybe near the Detroit River Walk, or Belle Isle Detroit), but what if you want to do some skiing? Well there are many places close to Detroit that can satisfy the outdoor person in you. Detroit has different types of weather all year 'round, so naturally there are activities for every type of season. From skiing, to waterparks, to bking, you have a lot to choose from. So take a look below for an array of outdoor recreation activities around Detroit. Skiing Into skiing or snowboarding? There are some good michigan ski resorts that are just a short drive from Detroit. Michigan weather in the winter is GREAT for skiing so check out some of these great resorts Michigan Ski Resorts Waterparks For summertime fun, why not check out some of the waterparks in and around Detroit? Michigan summers can get quite hot and humid at times, so heading to a waterpark could be the perfect way to cool off. (Page coming soon!) Hiking Believe it or not, there are hiking trails around Detroit, though you may have to travel a bit out from the city for most. Still if you're into hiking and nature, a drive outside of the city would be great and you can see some of the great nature and surroundings that SE Michigan has to offer. (Page coming soon!)
