Pewabic Pottery is a popular place to go in Detroit. Find unique pewabic tile and other great artwork. Not many people I have spoken to in the city know about the Pewabic tile place located on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. It's one of the more underrated attractions in Detroit (along with the Belle Isle Conservatory

But it is one of the best kept secret destinations you can go to while you stay in the city. It is a national landmark so it's a wonder why more people don't know about it. The shop has been at its current location for more than a century and continues to educate people on pewabic pottery. They even offer classes to teach you and artist also showcase their works here from time to time. You can also purchase works. Prices are pretty affordable. I remember in high school (seems like such a long time ago :) )

I did a project on architecture in the city of Detroit and buildings such as the Guardian Building featured this type of tile and I was actually able to go and buy some tiles from the store and show them to the class. On occasion they also have guided tours where you can find out about the history of the place and where pewbaic artwork has been used. Check their website below for info on tours.

Some of the buildings where you can find this type of art are: There are many many more buildings which feature pewabic tile but there are just too many to name.
